School Nurses' Office Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
We are very excited to see our students and look forward to the day that we are all back together again. Our goal is for your child to be healthy, safe and have and an overall sense of well-being. By partnering with our parents, family, teachers, team members, and other health care resources we can achieve these goals.
Parents can assist by:
-Sending in completed health forms and Emergency Action Plans.
-Updating emergency telephone numbers and contacts.
-Obtaining immunizations and physicals yearly and giving the school a copy for grades K, 2nd, and 4th
-Communicating any health concerns you have about your child with our school nurse.
-Making arrangements with the School Nurse if your child requires Daily or Emergency Medications (i.e. inhalers, Epipens, Glucagon) bring an updated action plan and make sure that the medication is not expired.
ALL medications (prescription and over-the-counter) must be brought to school by a parent or responsible adult and given to the school nurse. All medications must be in their original container with the prescription label/directions attached. Students are not permitted to carry any medication on them.
We encourage your child to get adequate rest and start the day with a healthy breakfast every day before school. Children learn and concentrate better when they are not hungry and have had a good night's rest.
Please review the Child Health Assessment Screening Tool every and keep your child home if he /she has any sign of illness.
The nurse will assess your child's illness and contact parents/guardians to take their child home if, in the professional opinion of our school nurse, the child is unable to participate in school activities or may put other students and staff at risk for illness.
Please have a plan in place to pick up your child in a timely manner in case he/she needs to be dismissed from school.
